‘Stay in touch!’ everyone said as we departed. ‘Tell us more’ they said as we began to post online. ‘Where have you been?’ they asked when we visited home. ‘Where are you now?’ cruiser friends message us from time to time. And as the years draw out, the more important it is for us to stay connected with family friends – old and new.
But posting regularly can become a chore. And then the story become disjointed as updates go to different platforms where they then drown in the maelstrom of messages.
And there is so much to tell, remember and reflect on …
So, to take ownership of our shared adventures again, we looked for ways to re-unite the different feeds in one place, but without abandoning the places where others already gather: messages, social media and personal home pages.
This is how Sailor’s Journals was born …
